Get an US Bank Account
If you are a foreigner, get an US bank account is never easy. If you do not have Social Security Number (SSN), most banks will not accept your application. Because of my H4 status, I am not eligible for SSN. This made me in a difficult situation to get a bank account in the United States. I'had been to Citibank tried to open one bank account, but the officer said that they needs SSN / Tax ID in order to proceed.
Well, after I've tried several banks, finally I found one bank that actually offers bank account (Checking and Saving Accounts) for foreigner. This bank is Bank of America. If you do not have SSN/ Tax ID, then all you need to bring to their service center are foreign passport and foreign driving license, then the officer at the bank will process it for you.
Thank God that I got mine now. =)
